"I would definitely recommend having Jennifer as your doula.  Even though she wasn't expecting our call over 4 weeks before my due date, she dropped everything to be with us at the hospital.  I had to be induced due to severe pre-eclampsia and did not plan on being in the hospital that early.  This being my last prenancy, I was looking forward to a "perfect" natural birth with help from Jennifer and my husband.  Well, perfect and natural did not end up being part of the plan.  Being confined to bed was really hard, but Jennifer was right there to help in any way she could and to coach my husband with each contraction.  She could tell when a contraction was starting when he couldn't, so giving him a heads up helped.  The baby's heart rate kept dropping so I had to be continuously monitored.  Since I couldn't get out of bed and "work" with the contractions I requested an epidural.  Jennifer helped me while I had to go through getting TWO epidurals.  (first one didn't take!)  She never judged me and was completely supportive of my decisions.  I ended up having an emergency c-section and Jennifer was there as long as we wanted her to be there.  She's awesome and if I would be getting pregnant again, I would definitely want her there to help us through it again.  She was my calm in the midst of all the unnaturalness (if that's even a word!)."
